Recently it has been brought to my attention how many wonderful women I have been blessed to know. They surround me and support me every step of my journey. As I begin to come into my own, I realize it has little to do with me and everything to do with God and the wonderful women I try to emulate. Being a woman is beautiful. Good women bless my life. Just By Simply Blogging
December 28th, 2009About 2 years ago, I volunteered to help out the Children’s Ministry at my church. Although it is a responsibilty for me to fufill requirements to be part of Children’s Ministry, it has become a positive thing in my life. Just recently, a new requirement was to blog our Sunday devotion, and blog a devotion that we do we do with our parents.
Because I was required to blog out the devotions I did, I looked through some of my friends’ blogs. I realized that many this year aren’t feeling the Christmas Spirit. The amount of those people surprised me, and so I started blogging about it. In my blog post, I talked about how people aren’t feeling Christmasy at all is because they don’t know the true meaning of Christmas, which is Jesus.
Soon enough, one of my friends from school who wasn’t a believer read my post. What I didn’t expect was for her to write a blog entry thanking me. In her post, she wrote that I made an impact on her life, how her views on things have changed because of my posts, and how she now knows the true meaning of Christmas. Praise God! I’m grateful for a holiday intended to symbolically help us remember what our Savior has done for us. Who Knew?
December 14th, 2009Recently my boyfriend asked me what my ring size is. We have a long distance relationship so unfortunately we only get to see each other only about once every couple months. And becuase of our jobs in the military, once he visits me for christmas we wont see each other for at least another 6 months. Initially long distance terrified me, and it is definitely much harder than I thought. I didnt know if I’d ever get over my ex or find a decent guy. Turns out I found the most amazing guy at the most random and unlikely of times…but I guess thats just how love goes, right? I love him so much and I’m so blessed that our paths crossed. Peace and Quiet
December 14th, 2009I am grateful for the quiet that has fallen over my apartment for the last two days. My roommates have all left for the weekend which means I have been able to catch up on sleep, play with my sister, and study for my finals that are looming in the near future. Comfort
December 12th, 2009Earlier today I realized that I am greatful for comfort in my life. It doesn’t mean that my life is comfortable, it doesn’t always come with joy and it doesn’t always mean things are easy, but I am so greatful that I can find comfort in different, little things, i.e. a bed, a piece of chocolate, a song, a view, a hard workout, a friend, etc. I am grateful that I was able to notice the few moments today where my back did not hurt at all, I was just able to sit there and be grateful for those fleeting moments of comfort that I haven’t known in years.
