Today I returned from an annual friends retreat. This was our 20th year of getting together the weekend following general conference in Oct. We first became friends through our callings in church service and have been blessed to recognize the special relationship that has grown through our service and through years of friendship. We have a yearly theme, family facts-where we share about our family with words and pictures, a fun “dice game” and other traditional events. This year the 5 of us came from 3 different cities. It takes effort and planning but we havent missed a year and have been so blessed by the renewing of friendships. We laugh, we cry, our testimonys are strengthened. We have been blessed to support each other through many life events. Our family lives, our childrens life events, ie: missions, weddings, grandchildren. Unfortunate and painful divorce and the death of a spouse. The blessing of sisterhood has brought a piece of heaven into my life. They stand by me, they love and support me, we love and support each other. This is one of my greatest blessings and I look forward to many more years of renewed frienship with these dear, dear friends. I am greatful for our families support as they see what a blessing this event is in our individual and family lives. Posted by: Sidney
