Today was a great morning for me. I do zumba workouts and we usually finish the song with “It’s My Life” from Bon Jovi. Music is what makes me happy and when I heard this song, I got goose bumps and was filled with joy. I was thinking about how much the Lord has given to me recently. Reuniting me with friends that I had known, but never took the time to hang out with. He has given me a great family, friends, peace and a better life!!! I am grateful that HE loves me!!! Though there are so many people in my life that continually support and bless me, I also recognize my need and ability to be self-reliant in physical, emotional, and spiritual matters. Tonight at work I did an event called the hunger banquet. When the guests came in they got one of three colored dots. Each color represented a different class. The upper class got to sit at tables where they had a 3 course meal. The middle class sat on chairs where they got pizza and soda. The lower class sat on the ground on card board boxes, they got a bowl of rice and a bowl of beans for five people and each person got a tortilla shell with no plates or utensils to use. This made me realize how real this really is, and I am so blessed to be able to have food to eat each day. There are some families out there who get a bowl of rice for the entire family for a week. I can not imagine this. I am so grateful for the food that I have, I’m grateful for the job that I have that provides me good meals. Bless my life!!!!! Posted by: lilla

Today I feel gratitude for my stable job, knowing that some are struggling through a season of unemployment. Today I feel gratitude that my body is healthy enough to allow me to exercise, knowing that some are struggling with serious illness or physical challenges that preclude them from experiencing this opportunity. Today I feel gratitude for a spouse who I love and who loves me in spite of my imperfections, knowing that some are suffering the devastation of divorce. Today I feel gratitude for faith and hope, knowing that some have lost their faith or feel hopelessness. Today I feel grateful for challenges that have tested me to the core, knowing that they have helped me become the person I am and have taught me important things I could not have learned in any other way.
